Galvashield® CC - Concrete Corrosion Control
Galvashield® CC embedded galvanic anodes are installed into drilled holes to mitigate active corrosion. The anode units are alkali-activated with an internal pH of 14 or greater to keep the zinc active over the life of the anode and are not corrosive to reinforcing steel. Once installed, the zinc anode corrodes preferentially to the adjacent reinforcing steel to provide galvanic corrosion control.
Galvashield CC anodes are classified as Type 2AC Anodes – alkali-activated anodes for corrosion control in sound concrete. A typical use is to install anodes into “hot spots” as determined by corrosion potential surveys.
Applications:
- Balconies
- Columns and beams
- Bridge decks
- Multi-storey carparks
- Jetties
- Prestressed concrete
- Post-tensioning anchors
Unit Type | Description | Unit Size diameter x length |
Galvashield CC65 | Standard unit for moderate steel density | 46 x 62 mm |
Galvashield CC100 | Larger unit for higher steel density | 46 x 100 mm |
Galvashield CC135 | Slim-fit for congested reinforcement | 29 x 135 mm |
♦ Custom size anodes are available for specific project needs. ♦ Minimum hole dimension is 30mm wider than the anode length and 4mm wider than the anode diameter. |
